Christof means when he states that "there is nothing fake about Truman himself," meaning that Truman wasn't phony or fake. He didn't have scripts he read off of or people telling him what to do and then to do it. He was just living his life, not knowing he was being watched 24/7 of it. Truman was just doing what he wanted, and was just saying what he wanted, whenever he wanted.
These ideas that Truman had came from, came from magazines and ads. He wanted to get away, and then there would always be something blocking him from getting away, like the bus breaking down. Truman would always be so close to being where he wanted to be, and then suddenly the people running the TV show would catch on to him, and he would be back to square one.
I think Truman wasn’t allowed to read works that might potentially invoke these ideas because that would be crazy on the people who are running the TV show because then he would want to get away, and they would have no show. I think Truman got a lot of things taken away from him to make the show good, and not disastrous.

In Sandy Springs, Georgia the Police Detectives issued a felony murder warrant Tuesday for a babysitter in the death of an infant. Detectives interviewed the child's parents and Ayala. Whats Up With Those Lakers, and Their Star Players?

Coming into basketball this season does not look good for the Lakers. Kobe Bryant one of the team's star guards has persistent bruising and spraining on his right foot that threw his status in Tuesday's opener against the Dallas Mavericks into doubt. Bryant participated in the team shoot-around this afternoon and appears likely to be in the starting five as the Lakers begin their grand experiment with new additions, Steve Nash and Dwight Howard.
Bryant participated in five of the eight Laker preseason games, averaging 20.4 points on 50.0 percent shooting. But with Dwight Howard having played just two preseason games as he recovers from back surgery, the Lakers will have had their complete starting five on the floor together just once ahead of the opener, making the issue of developing team bonding even more difficult.
According to L.A. Times beat reporter Mike Bresnahan, Bryant declared himself 85 percent sure he would play on Tuesday against the Mavericks. That follows a Monday night posting on Bryant's Facebook page in which he said, "Getting stronger, Not sure what it means for Tuesday night just yet but it's much better than it was a week ago when I could barely walk. I hate not practicing. It drives me crazy!"
The Lakers were 0-8 in the preseason, outscored by an average margin of 15.2 points. They will go from L.A. tonight to Portland for Wednesday’s game, and the back-to-back isn’t quite how coach Mike Brown wants to begin the year. But after that, the Lakers play 11 of their next 15 games at home, and have only two back-to-backs in that span. link http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--lakers-unsure-kobe-bryant-will-play-in-opener-29321409.html
Health Sugar is Not So Good For You Hailey Hurowitz 10/30/12
1A Experts have said that sugar is a poison that is killing us all. We need sugar in our bodies, but what we don't need is an excessive amount. Naturally occurring sugars in fruits, veggies, and milk are perfectly fin for you though. It is added sugars like sweeteners that are really bad for you. Some major companies are actually getting on board with this though. In the past four years, cereal brands have cut back on sugar, the milk industry recently lowered the amounts in chocolate milk served in schools, and Walmart is aiming for 10% less added sugar in select foods by 2015. The love for sugar is in you DNA. Researchers have found two sweet-receptor genes that can predict a preference for sweets. The American Heart Association recommends most women get no more than 24 grams of added sugar per day. Thing is, the average American woman eats about 18 daily teaspoons. Sugar is hidden in unlikely foods, from salad dressing to crackers, which can push you past 24 grams. Eating too much sugar can cause fat buildup in the liver, which can lead to health problems. As sweet as some of foods may taste, they contain relatively small amounts of sugar. Plus, nature's packaging comes with essential vitamins and minerals, along with water and fiber that slow the release of sugars into the bloodstream and prevent insulin spikes. link http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/30/health/sugar-bad/index.html?hpt=he_c2

Apple has changed its management team. with two of its top executives being asked to leave. Scott Forstall is responsible for the iOS software running iPhones and iPads, and is considered an heir-in-waiting to CEO Time Cook, he is the most prominent executive departing. He will though stick around as an advisor for the rest of this year, then leave the company. The move was actually a surprise. Forstall was one of the top executives at Apple over the past decade, and his team's software fuels Apple's premiere devices. Forstall was also behind Apple's Maps software, a debacle that was widely mocked on social media. The debut of Maps was so disastrous that iCook issued a public apology for the app and recommended rival applications while Apple worked on improvements, including the Google Maps software that is replaced. Siri, the iPhone and iPad's electronic personal assistant, is also an incomplete product. The service is down a lot and doesn't really give good answers. A group of Apple executives will replace Forstall, each sharing some of his responsibilities. Eddy Cue, head of Apple's iTunes and iCloud services, will take over Siri and Maps. Mac OS chief Craig Federighi will take control of iOS, uniting Apple's two operating systems into one product group. And Jony Ive, Apple's head of hardware design, will be in charge of Apple's software look and feel going forward as well. Apple made a few other executive changes as well. As the company searches for an executive to replace Browett, Cook will oversee the retail unit. link http://money.cnn.com/2012/10/29/technology/apple-shakeup/index.html

Politics Obama Trying to Legalize Gay Marriage
10/26/12
1A
President Obama on Thursday supported behind ballot measures in Maine, Maryland, and Washington state that would legalize same-sex marriage. Although the president first said his general approval for gay marriage in May, he had not previously offered specific endorsements of the three measures. In each case, the endorsements were issued through the state branches of Obama's reelection campaign. In Maine, gay-rights put the measure on this year's ballot in hopes of reversing the results of 2009 in which voters rejected a same-sex marriage law passed by the legislature. In Maryland and Washington, gay-marriage laws were passed by lawmakers and signed by the governors earlier this year, but opponents collected enough signatures to hold off on whether the laws should be upheld or rejected. Ed Murray, who is an openly gay state senator in Washington has been fighting for years to legalize gay marriage, and is really with Obama all the way on this one. Chip White of Preserve Marriage Washington, which opposes the gay-marriage law, said he was unsurprised by Obama's action. If any of the measures are approved, it would be the first time that a state legalized same-sex marriage through a popular vote. All 32 states voting on gay marriage have rejected it, while the six states that have legalized it did so through legislation or court orders. In all three states voting on the issue on Nov. 6, the outcome is expected to be close, though the polls up to now have given an edge to gay-marriage supporters.
In Marietta, Georgia the police arrested Jerry Dean Westbrook on Tuesday for three felony counts of sexual battery of a juvenile. According to the police, 68-year-old Westbrook, of Powder Springs, was a season pass holder of White Water amusement park. He usually visited the park alone. In September, Marietta detectives investigated allegations of inappropriate contact that was made towards young girls in White Water's wave pool. Some witnesses told police they had seen an older man, who was not identified at that time, making contact with young females on several occasions between the end of August and the beginning of September. The police believe there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward. Many people are re-leaved that Jerry Dean Westbrook is in jail now though.

The Tour de France is where Lance Armstrong got stripped of all seven of his titles this week because of his drug cheats in cycling. The list of frauds grow daily with regards to Armstrong. Nike is even shocked by Armstrong's blood-doping too as the rest of us are. Even Livestrong, his foundation where they are geared toward helping and inspiring cancer patients everywhere, gladly accepted his resignation. What Armstrong did was destroy his reputation, lie after meticulous lie. It is not only about the blood doping and steroid-using and clandestine injections, this hardly makes him alone. It was the denials, the anger at anyone who dared suggest otherwise, the leaning on his recovery from cancer as a weird response to any accusations. There are few things more damaging than lies and liars. They steal away a sense of what is real and our ability to trust, but mostly though they diminish themselves. This is what Armstrong did when he cheated, when he lied again and again about doing so, when he accused his former teammates as liars, when he bullied and shamed any and all detractors. Lance Armstrong always will be the guy who beat cancer though. He was eventually departed by himself, his ego, his hubris, and his lies.
Apple unexpectedly unveiled a new fourth-generation iPad yesterday, just six months after the last new iPad came out. That is actually the shortest planned obsolescence window that people have ever seen from Apple. The new iPad even updated to a faster A6X processor, it expanded LTE support, and now has a 10-hour battery life. All the feature upgrades would have been just as good six months from now. The new iPad is really about one thing and one thing only though, the lighting. This upgrade fits the iPad into a new universe of lighting accessories and cables that will generate no less than $100 million in revenue from consumers suddenly forced to upgrade. Apple started standardizing on the lighting connector with last month's updates to the iPhone and the entire iPod line. The iPad was the only outlier, until today. The 30-pin third-geration iPad has vanished from the Apple Store too. While the iPhone 4S sticks around as a cheaper alternative to the iPhone 5, the iPad 2 suddenly gets a "price drop" to $399 and the great iPad 3 gets sent to the closet. You can't even buy the iPad 3 through normal channels now. The new new iPad is mini too!

Ohio Country Gets Election Date Wrong Obama and Romney are both really focusing their attention on the critical swing state of Ohio, officials in the northeastern county of Ottawa discovered late last week that they had sent out 2,200 notices telling voters that election day was Thursday, Nov. 8, instead of the actual date, Tuesday, November 6. The Associated Press reported that Carol Ann Hill, deputy director of the county's Board of Elections, said 7 percent of the 30,000 registered voters in the county were mailed incorrect postcards. Hill added that the relatively small percentage "doesn't make it any better." The notice also included an incorrect listing for the location of a polling place. Election board director JoAnn Friar, a Republican, blamed the mistake on a computer glitch and told the Washington Post that new notices would be sent out to the voters affected. The county is on Lake Erie near Toledo and voted 52 percent for Barack Obama in 2008. The Democrats quickly attacked the elections board for the mistake. Ohio is not the only state where county officials have gotten the election date wrong. Offcials in Maricopa County, Arizona, mistakenly listed the general election date as November 8 in the Spanish translation of an "official government document" given to around 50 voters.

Title of Film: Little Miss Sunshine Release Date: July 26, 2006 Producer: Albert Berger, David T. Friendly, Peter Saraf, Marc Turtletaub, and Ron Yerxa Director: Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris Genre: Indie
Plot: Sheryl Hoover is an overworked mother of two children who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her brother Frank is a gay scholar of French author Marcel Proust, and is temporarily living at home with the family after a suicide attempt. Sheryl's husband, Richard is trying to build a career as a motivational speaker and a life coach. Dwayne, Sheryl's son from a previous marriage, is an unhappy teenager who has taken a vow of silence until he can accomplish his dream of getting into the US Air Force Academy in order to become a test pilot. Richard's father, Edwin, a World War II veteran recently evicted from a retirement home for using heroin, lives with the family now. He is close with his seven-year-old granddaughter, Olive. When Olive learns she was qualified for the "Little Miss Sunshine" beauty contest that is being held in Redondo Beach, California in two days, she is really excited. However, money is tight, the only way to make the trip is if the entire household goes. Despite Richard, Dwayne, and Frank not wanting to go, they all get together to support Olive and go on the 800 mile road trip in their yellow Volkswagen. They family argues a lot during the trip, with all the yellow van's car troubles. When the van's clutch breaks early in the trip, the family finds out that they must push the van until it reaches 20 miles per hour, and then run and jump in. Later, the horn starts honking uncontrollably, resulting with the family getting pulled over. Throughout the road trip, the family suffers a lot of personal setbacks, and discover their need for each other's support. Richard loses an important contract that would have jump-started his motivational business and saved the family from financial problems. Frank see's his ex-boyfriend who, in leaving him for Frank's chief academic rival, made his suicide attempt. Meanwhile, Edwin dies from a heroin overdose. In order to reach the beauty contest in time, the family puts his body out of the hospital, transporting it around with them, planning to make funeral arrangements after the pageant. During the last part of the trip, Dwayne finds out he is color blind, and therefore he can never get a pilot's license, which makes him break his silence, making him refuse to continue with the trip and revealing his anger and anger towards his family. He storms from the van in tears, but is calmed down by a hug from Olive and returns to the family, apologizing for the things he yelled. They made it to the beauty contest with barley no time to spare, and Olive is almost refused entrance to the pageant for arriving at the hotel four minutes late. As she gets ready, the family looks at the other competitors that look like they have been doing this for a long time. It quickly becomes apparent that Olive that is plain, pale, slightly chubby, with ugly hair, wearing large eyeglasses, and untrained in beauty pageant conventions is not in their league. When it is almost time for Olive to perform in the talent portion of the pageant, Richard and Dwayne see that Olive is certain to be humiliated, they run to the dressing room to prevent her from performing. Sheryl, however, says that they should just let Olive be Olive, and Olive will decide to go on stage or not. Olive performs the dance routine that her Grandpa had secretly choreographed for her, a burlesque performance to Rick James song "Super Freak," Olive, not knowing this routine and song is a little too old for her, they audience is horrified. They organizers are shocked, and demand Sheryl and Richard remove Olive from the stage. Instead of that, one by one the members of the family join Olive on stage, dancing alongside her, and Richard prevents the pageant officials from touching his daughter. They family is next seen outside the hotel's security office where a police officer tells them they are free to leave as long as Olive never again enters a beauty pageant in the state of California. Richard tells Olive that her grandfather would of been very proud of her, and the family happily piles into the junky bus and heads back to their home in Albuquerque. Time and Place of Film: The film takes place in the United States in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The time of the film takes place in 2006. Main Characters: Toni Collette plays Sheryl Hoover, Olive and Dwayne's mother. Steve Carell plays Frank Ginsberg, Sheryl's gay brother. Greg Kinnear plays Richard Hoover, Toni Collette's husband. Paul Dano plays Dwayne Hoover, the brother of Olive who wants to be a test pilot. Abigail Breslin, plays Olive, the girl that performs in a beauty pageant. Alan Arkin plays Edwin Hoover, the grandpa that is addicted to heroin. Introduction and Ending:
I think the introduction of the movie trailer was okay, it was nothing special. The introduction starts off as the family sitting at the table, and the grandpa points out that Dwayne is not talking. The family gets a call that some girl quit the pageant, so their is a spot for Olive to be in it, which she is really excited about. The family then heads to California, and immediately they start arguing about random stuff. Their yellow bus thing then breaks down, and they all get out and start to push it, and then they get back on their way to the beauty pageant.
I think the ending of the movie trailer was just okay too. It first starts out how the honking of the horn can't stop on the yellow van thing, and they get pulled over by a cop because of that. After that they show really quickly, and shot little shots of most of everything that happens in the car ride on the way to the beauty contest. After that part it shows Olive sitting in a bed asking her grandpa if he thought she was pretty, and of course he says yes. At the very end they are all in the car and they all realize that Olive isn't in the car, so they go back to get her, but they can't stop the car to get her because the car won't stop, so she has to jump in, quickly.
The introduction and ending really should you what the movie was going to be about in little pieces, but it still didn't ruin the movie. It really made you want to go see it because it seems like an hilarious movie. The introduction and ending though wasn't very cool looking, and it had a lot of writing on it about the movies, and the awards and stuff it won. Towards the end it also ran through the main characters that were in the movie. Camera Work: The camera work wasn't really fancy because after all it is an independent film, but just because it didn't have great camera work, it still was a good trailer. The camera was not shaky, and it even had a few basic transitions that I saw. Before I watched the trailer I new it wasn't going to be like a Stephen Spielberg trailer because it is an indie film after all. It was good enough. Identifying Shots and Angles: There was a lot of medium shots and a few close ups. There wasn't much of any others shots or angle shots, which they could of included to make the trailer better. The trailer was still good though without all the fancy shots. Key Moment: A key moment of the movie trailer was when Olive was laying on a bed, sort of looking said and asked her grandfather if he thought she was truly pretty. The grandpa responded saying that he thought she was the prettiest person in the whole world, and Olive said he was just saying that. The grandpa responded to that saying he was madly in love with her and its not just because of her brains or personality....:) It was a very cute and funny moment. Who Would Like This Film: I think this would be a family film, but it would be for families that had mature family members in them because this movie does have some things in it that people need maturity to watch. I would rate this movie PG-13 just because it has some stuff that isn't meant for little kids to see. It is a great film for people that love comedy, if you don't, you might not like this movie. Rate This Film: I rate this movie 5 stars because it is a great independent film that is really funny. I love funny movies, and I loves family comedies like this. It reminds me of the funny movie vacation, but this a cleaner version. This characters played their parts very well, which is always great to see in a movie. Recommendations: I would recommend this movie to kids 13 and up because it has some things in it that young kids shouldn't see. I think this movie would be okay for younger kids of the ages of 10, 11, and 12 to see if they are watching it with their parents. If you don't like funny movies, you shouldn't watch this movie.
Sports News McQueary Files Defamation Suit Against Penn State Hailey Hurowitz October 2nd, 2012
In Harrisburg, Pa, a former Penn State graduate assistant who said he saw former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky showering with a young boy on campus and testified at his sex abuse trial sued the university on Tuesday for what he calls defamation and misrepresentation. Mike McQueary's lawsuit claims his treatment by the university since Sandusky was arrested in November has caused him distress, anxiety, humiliation, and embarrassment. The complaint, filed in county court near State College, where the university is based, is seeing millions of dollars in damages. Penn State spokesman, Dave La Torre declined to comment on Tuesday, and McQueary's lawyer, Elliot Strokoff did not return a phone message. The lawsuit discloses that shortly after Sandusky was charged, the university's then president, Graham Spanier, met with athletic department staff inside the university's football stadium and told his support for athletic director, Tim Curley and vice president, Gary Schultz, who had been charged with perjury and failure to properly report suspected child abuse in the Sandusky case. Spanier also gave a public statement with the same message. Curley, now on leave, and Schultz, who has retired, have denied the charges against them many of times, and now they await trial. McQueary said Spanier's support of the two administrators was designed to preserve the university's reputation and make McQueary a fool. McQueary, whose contract with Penn State wasn't renewed, testified this summer that he came upon Sandusky and the boy in a sexually suggestive position in a team shower in early 2001. He told jurors at Sandusky's trail he saw that the boy's hands were against a wall and Sandusky was behind him, with his midsection moving subtly, and he heard a "skin-on-skin smacking sound." McQueary reported that to then-head football coach, Joe Paterno, who alerted Curley and Schultz. Paterno was fired after three men were charged, and he died of complications from lung cancer in January. McQueary says that the November meeting with Spanier cleary suggested that McQueary was lying in his reports and testimonies that he had reported the sexual misconduct. Spanier's statements have ruined MacQueary's reputation for honesty and integrity, and have ruined his ability to earn a living. Messages left for Spanier and his lawyer on Tuesday were not quickly returned. The lawsuit said McQueary, placed on administrative leave Nov. 11, learned his contract was not being renewed, meaning he was no longer a university employee, from a news conference held in July by the university's new president, Rodney Erickson. He said his salary last year was $140,000 and his future earnings as a coach would amount to at least $4 million. He claims he was let go because he cooperated with investigators, testified at the preliminary hearing for Curley and Schultz and is expected to be a main witness against them at trial. He wants reinstatement, money that he lost while he was on leave, legal fees, back pay and benefits through the Sandusky trial, among with other things. Sandusky, a former defensive coordinator, was convicted in June on charges he sexually abused 10 boys, some on campus. He remains jailed awaiting sentencing next week. Eight young men testified against Sandusky, describing a lot of abuse they said went from grooming and manipulation to fondling, oral sex, and anal rape when they were boys. Sandusky still says he is innocent, saying that he did shower with boys, but saying that he never molested them. He is most likely going to get a sentencing that will keep him in prison for life.

When it was time for her to server her mandatory assignment in the Israeli military, she was assigned to a specialized unit of the investigative police as an undercover agent. Her unit was specifically responsible for ammunition coming into the country and any sort of smuggling. Toledano's lifestyle though, didn't make her happy. The betrayal wasn't working for her, and it made her sad. It made her sad having to arrest people. After she married and moved to the United States, she said she finally discovered who she was, and what makes her happy. She now has a new mission and assignment, which is helping others discover themselves.
