On November 14th, CNN Student News had a lot to talk about. First, they talked about how there is now a civil war in Syria, and the fighting in the nation has been going on for 20 months now because of their government. They really want to get rid of their president. This weekend they formed a unified collision too. 45,000 people have been killed since it started, and lots of people have been injured. A boy was injured in the 'war', and it made him have to amputate his leg off, which he wasn't happy about, but his older brother made a promise to him. His brother promised that he would walk again. His older brother is now an expert on helping him with his bandages, and is even trying to save up money for a prosthetic leg, but it has not been so easy. The brother needed to get to Turkey so that the people there could help his brother. A person took them as far as he could to Turkey, but then told the older brother and the younger brother that he couldn't take them any further, so the older brother carried the younger brother all the way there. They didn't have a visa to get into the U.S., and they were denied to come into the states. They are now both waiting to see if the U.S. will let them come into the country on humanitarian parol. Second, CNN Student News also talked about how there is a natural disaster going on in Venice, Italy. The natural disaster is that their are floods that are causing damages to Italy, and of course the people. Two big weather systems was the cause of Italy being drenched. Third, Student News told us that we will soon see changes in Obama's cabinet, which is exciting too. Fourth, All Electric is the car of the year according to Motor Trend magazine. It mostly won because of its performance, and it can go 75 miles per gallon. Only a couple of them have been sold, and they are not cheap. Fifth, a high school student in Florida was nominated for homecoming king who has sueri popasly, which is a disease that effects the muscles. He is a senior named Hakim Dailey, who is such a happy kid. His caretaker is actually his football coach, who is named Chris. Chris, helps him to get around, and even carries his book bag for him around school. Hakim has had a rough life by starting with being put up for adoption, and in and out of various foster homes. When it was homecoming day, on the homecoming court he had a big surprise for everyone. Hakim took his first steps, and walked down the court very happily. He was even more happy when he found out he won homecoming king, screaming with joy. Finally, the government of Kuwait had a record winning firework celebration in honor of their 50 year anniversary of their constitution.

On November 13th, CNN Student News also had a lot to talk about. First, they talked about how two weeks after hurricane Sandy, power has been coming back on, and tunnels and streets have been opening up. The storm is responsible for lots and lots of deaths, as well is many injuries. Everyone's priorities right now is to get everybody shelter, clothes, and food. There is also a bunch of opportunities to help the victims of this hurricane. There is a group from New Orleans who are cooking meals for thousands of people. Second, CNN Student News told us about how Saudi Arabia is the number one producers of oil in the world, and a lot of Middle East countries also produce lots and lots of oil more than anybody else in the world. Saudi Arabia might loose its number one spot to America though. It is said that the U.S. will be producing the most oil by 2020 because of new technology. The new technology though, could hurt the environment though, but we will have to wait and see. Third, the U.S. Navy punished 7 of its elite forces' members for releasing information about the Navy, but it wasn't handled privately like it usually is because the commanders wanted everyone to know that what they did wasn't acceptable. The new video game that came out, called Medal of Honor, which gives people the experience of actually being in the Navy ruined those 7 navy members jobs forever. Apparently even one of the 7 members was part of the killing of Osama Bin Laden. These 7 navy members told information to the makers of this video game without getting it authorized that they could do that by their commanders. The Navy seals lives are secret, and are not meant to be shared because if they do, and the information gets into the wrong hands, it could create big problems. Fourth, the Hindu people are celebrating it up by celebrating for 5 days in a festival called Dwali, which is a very important celebration. It is a celebration for the Hindu People's new year, and it is celebrated with lights, and dancing and stuff like that. Fifth, "Cradel to Grave" is a program in Philly where they take teens to hospitals to see other teens and people that have gotten shot. This program tries to prevent teens from gun violence in the city of "brotherly love." Philadelphia's homicide rate is the worse, so they are really trying to fix that. Finally, they summed up the news show by showing us an animal called the slow loris, and it was eating a rice ball while holding a fork in its other hand.

On November 12th, CNN Student News had a lot to tell us. First, they told us that the CIS is getting a new director because the old one resigned because he admitted to cheating on his wife. This stunt he pulled could of impacted on the national sercurity, and they should of told this new sooner. Second, the news told us that the Fiscal Cliff, which is the cause of the aconomic disaster in washington is going to come into effect in the beginning of January. Third, president Obama and his members want to tax people more for people making $250,000 more a year, but he wants people making less than $250,000 a year for them to get tax like they are now. I totally do not agree with this, and the Republicans think that no one's taxes should go up too. Fourth, a teen girl named Malallah who is from Pakistan was shot by the Taliban because she was fighting for education rights for girls. November 10th is now Malallah day. After she was shot, she was transported to a hospital in England to recover from her being shot. She is still alive, and is looking through all the cards people from around the world have sent her. She is able to talk, and an internet campaign has even started for her to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Fifth, Americans celebrated Veteran's Day, with parades and different activities all over the place. President Obama was even part of a ceremony at Arlington Cemetery. There is also a Nation Guard that goes out to find lost purple heart medals to bring back to the rightful owners. The purple heart is the oldest kind of medal that is for people that have been wounded in action against enemies of the United States. Finally, there was music from World War II written by Cornell Van Heuvelen in 1945, who is 93 now, that was played for the first time ever by a Symphony on Veteren's day. Heuvelen, traveled across the country to hear it play, and he said that the music tells about the journey of the war.
